A kindergarten project located in a residential area of Istanbul, consists of volumes separated by few steps in an open system. The game and activity parts are separated from the office parts, refectory and kitchen located by the courtyard opposite the entrance. The courtyard can serve as a refectory in warm weathers. Since there is radical change between the volumes on the two sides of the courtyard, the office part was designed with a reinforced concrete system, and the play area passes wider distances with a steel system. The roof is inspired by the slope of the site. The courtyard and the entrance are set lower from the slope line so that the Northern light can fill through. With the openings on the roof and walls, the building is designed to benefit from the sunny weather of Istanbul throughout the 9 months.
