About
Dilara (she/her) grew up in Istanbul and graduated from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Architecture Department in 2020.
Recently, she received her Master of Architecture II degree from Yale School of Architecture (YSoA) where she applied as a Fulbright Alternate Candidate. Approaching the practice as a form of materializing living modes, she enjoys discovering architecture’s capacity to mediate between the modern person1 and their surrounding.
In spring 2022, Dilara co-curated Give & Take in North Gallery Exhibitions while co-editing Retrospecta 45 the same year. She contributed to Paprika and YER (Yale Environmental Review) during her time at YSoA. With interest in literature, cities, and the translation of urban mediums, Dilara loves traveling, swimming, and writing about cities.
Dilara has lived in New Haven, Stuttgart, and Seoul. During her studies, she traveled to Hong Kong, India, Benin, Italy, Spain, Finland, Japan, and Vietnam and participated in several workshops, including EASA (European Architecture Students Assembly), University of Tampere, University of Stuttgart, and COCAT (Coordinadora de camps de treball a Catalunya).
